Sometimes described as “musician’s musicians”, Markley & Balmer are an indefinable duo who blend jazz, folk, pop, be-bop and the occasional polka into a mix that raises the barre for songwriters and instrumentalists alike.
In 2022, after a combined 85+ years of playing professionally, Markley & Balmer were selected for the GRASSY HILL EMERGING ARTIST SHOWCASE at the FALCON RIDGE FOLK FESTIVAL, proving that the artist must be open to perpetually emerging throughout their entire lives, that genre walls can (and must) be broken down, and that the song is all the open listener needs.
